Number Of Jobs Created By High Speed Rail Lower Than First Reported
MADISON, Wis. (WTAQ) - State estimates of the number of jobs created by building a high speed rail are lower than those offered previously. The line would be built between Madison and Milwaukee. Originally, the governor's office said work on the project would mean 13,000 jobs for Wisconsin. Now, the state is saying a better estimate is about 4,800 jobs. The difference may be tied to the different ways state and federal officials count the number of jobs when created by federal stimulus dollars.
